3ish Parts of Personal Development

I would LOVE to tell you personal development is easy just read a book and make a decision and BAM! All done! And.... Essentially that is what it is, but it takes a lot more effort, deep looks inside yourself and maybe even the need to ask for help.
If you know you need to make some changes but have no idea where to even start...You are not alone, not even close. We will talk in the next few weeks about the various parts of personal development, some of the areas we cover with our clients to help them along their journey. This is the first of a three part series so don't be alarmed that all three parts of personal development are not here, too much all at once can be overwhelming.
One of the most important questions you need to ask yourself before you begin this journey of discovery, enlightenment and change is ...Why? Why make changes? Why now? Is it for someone else because they think you need to change or is it for yourself? This journey needs to be just for you and others will benefit, but you need to do you, empower yourself, strengthen yourself, whatever you want to call it.

So, lets get started! Get yourself a notebook or a journal and make sure you have plenty of pages so that you can take notes, make some journal entries, write out how the changes make you feel. You know the drill and how to use a journal, if not message me and I will be happy to help you.
You need to start with a time for self discovery, get a better sense of who you are, your character, your strengths, what you need, how you feel, what interests you, your current and desired purpose, hopes dreams and aspirations. All of the guts of who you are and what makes you, you. I want to emphasize that this is not a time to get critical or depressed with who you are currently, but a time to get excited in who you will become. I know for ma and a lot of other women it can be easy to get discouraged at this point, don't just DO NOT do it! All of these discoveries should inspire the possibilities, and let me tell you there are so many, there is no shortage of possibilities for you.
Use this time of discovery to determine your goals and what you want out of life, what you want to do and become. If it is to change careers, make a plan, if you want to start a business, make a plan. What ever it is that you decide make a plan, talk to someone who can help through either their experiences, expertise or simply the desire to see you succeed, we all need those that believe in us in our lives. Additionally this time of discovery may take a couple days, it is not always something we can complete overnight.
The next thing I do and I want you to do is a SWOT analysis. I actually do this for my business quarterly to see how I am doing where we need to change and grow. Essentially you are going to do the same thing but for your life, you will be surprised at how much this will help in detailing out and seeing the bigger picture. Please do not let it overwhelm you though when you see everything written out. Each weakness is an opportunity for growth, each threat is an opportunity to gain new strengths. If you need clarity on how to complete a SWOT analysis they are all over the internet, and you can see where I found this template from, they also had some great explanations and descriptions.
